Active Voice and Passive Voice

What is Active Voice?

In Active Voice, the subject of the sentence performs the action of the verb. This means the person or thing doing the action comes before the verb in the sentence.

Example:

Ravi wrote a letter.

Here:

  • Ravi → subject (the doer of the action)

  • wrote → verb (the action)

  • a letter → object (the receiver of the action)

Structure of Active Voice

The general structure of active voice is:

Subject + Verb + Object

  • The teacher explained the lesson.
